Barry Xin, L.Ac, Ph.D

Born into a family experienced with both Chinese and western medicine, Dr. Baoyu (Barry) Xin was exposed to both styles of medicine at a very early age. Dr. Xin graduated from Beijing University of TCM, one of the premier universities for Chinese medicine in the world, with a doctorate of acupuncture. His Ph.D. mentors were the world renowned acupuncture masters, Prof. Xuemin Shi and Prof. Xuewu Li. His doctorate research focused on anti-aging and age related medical conditions, such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, dementia and so on. For his master's degree, he focused on the herbal treatments of diabetes to prevent the occurrence of complications. After graduating, he worked for over 15 years in top level hospitals, including the Acupuncture Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and the Chaoyang Diabetes Hospital. He is also honorary professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Xin currently is also teaching in the doctorate and master's programs beginning at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM).
